05.11.2015. To be or not to be: visa liberalization, Channel 112

Ahead of the vote by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the legislature related to the visa liberalization with the EU, Olena Prystayko, Executive director of the Ukrainian Think Tanks Liaison Office in Brussels, gave an interview to the Ukrainian news Channel 112.

When asked whether the EU is ready to open its borders to Ukraine, given the current migration crisis, Ms. Prystayko said:

The process of visa liberalization is about the requirements and the process of implementation of those requirements. This process is devoid of emotionalism. You have to fulfill the 25 requirements. Anti-corruption policy, clearing corrupt government officials who cannot perform their duties, return of money that had been stolen from the Ukrainian budget, security of the borders – these are all parts of the process.
