Education reform in Ukraine: instead of just memorizing formulas, learning to live


Today, in Ukraine many people criticize the fact that students at schools have to learn many formulas or historical dates by heart. The new Law on education provides for a new secondary education system that allows not only to gain certain knowledge, but also to acquire life competencies, necessary for successful self-fulfillment in society. Namely, the new Law on education foresees introduction of profession-oriented high schools (10 – 12 grades), similar to the system in Canada.
