The Centre for Global Studies “Strategy XXI” presented the new issue of Black Sea Security 1 (37) 2020.
The epidemic of coronavirus, which quickly took on the symptoms of a pandemic, showed how quickly globalisation could be replaced by deglobalisation, and democracy, under the pressure of quarantine measures, proved ineffective in combating the spread of the disease.
The decline in economic activity in China due to the COVID-19 pandemic has caused stagnation in the oil market, which, in turn, has led to the collapse of the agreement within the OPEC + supercartel.
Russia continues to destabilise the situation in the Mediterranean, Black and Azov Seas. Its goal is to further split NATO and the EU, taking advantage of the negative side effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
