30 March 2016 – the Institute of World Policy (IWP) help public debates “Do the Minsk Agreements have the future?” at the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”.
The participants discussed the key aspects and prospects of the conflict settlement in eastern Ukraine. During the event the IWP policy paper “Conflict Settlement Practices around the World: Lessons for Ukraine” have been presented.

On March 29, the Institute of World Policy held a public debate “The USA for Ukraine: Partner, Patron or Ally?” and presented the research “Foreign Policy Audit: Ukraine-U.S.”
Alyona Getmanchuk, Director of the IWP, told about main findings of her research “Foreign Policy Audit: Ukraine-U.S.”Vadym Prystayko, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Geoffrey R. Pyatt, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, and Andy Hunder, President, American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, presented their remarks on the US-Ukraine relations.

On March 16-17, the Institute of World Policy organized a study visit to Kyiv for two experts from France and Greece – Marie Mendras, Senior Fellow, Transatlantic Academy, German Marshall Fund (Washington, D.C), Professor at the Paris School of International Affairs, and Ioannis Karras, Assistant Professor of History Freiburg University, Visiting Lecturer International Hellenic University Thessaloniki.
On 17 March 2016, a students’ video address to Dutch citizens calling to support Ukraine at the Dutch referendum on EU association agreement with Ukraine due on 6 April, was presented at the National Aviation University. The students of the National Aviation University initiated the idea and made the video address calling to support Ukraine. Serhiy Kvit, Minister of Education, Dmytro Kuleba, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Iryna Bekeshkina, Director at the Ilko Kucheriv Democrativ initiatives Foundations, students, university administration, and representatives of the educational sector attended the event.
On the 10th of March 2016, civic organization «Europe without Barriers» held discussion of the results of public monitoring of visa practices of 18 EU consulates in Ukraine and presented public ranking of the most and least effective countries in implementing the Visa Facilitation Agreement between the European Community and Ukraine, as wells as the EU Visa Code. Consular practices of Schengen countries were characterized as “friendly”, “neutral” or “contradictory”. This was based on the survey of Ukrainian citizens on the following criteria: the fastest and slowest consideration of visa applications, issuing most / least amount of long-term and multiple-entry visas, fastest and slowest collection of biometric data, requirements of additional documents. 17th of February Vinnytsia hosted a seminar on the issues of electronic governance for the representatives of the regional state administration.
The Institute of World Policy held a public debate titled “Conflict Settlement Practices around the World. Lessons for Ukraine” on February 11, 2016.
IWP has studied the international experience in settling conflicts, and developed concrete recommendations to facilitate the implementation of the Minsk agreements. At the event IWP experts discussed these recommendations with Ukraine’s representatives in the Trilateral Contact Group, Ukrainian and foreign diplomats, and experts.
On the 9 February 2016, the Institute of World Policy (IWP) held a public discussion “Ukraine-Germany: How to turn situational partnership into a priority one”.
Representatives of the analytical center DiXi Group presented the brochure “Why is Energy Community important for me?”. A simple infographic and facts show the benefits of the so-called Third Energy Package of the EU for ordinary Ukrainian people.

On 28 January 2016, the Razumkov Centre held the roundtable “Why think tanks matter to policy makers and the public” as part of the global launch of the 2015 Global Go To Think Tank Index, published by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program at the University of Pennsylvania. The Ukrainian edition of the 2015 Global Go to Think Tank Index Report by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program, the Lauder Institute, the University of Pennsylvania was presented.
