Environment and climate: information and analytical review of environmental and climate policy and EU law (November-December 2021)
The Resource and Analysis Center “Society and Environment” has prepared an issue of “Environment and climate: information and analytical review of environmental and climate policy and EU law” for November-December 2021.
In November 2021, the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC in Glasgow has become the driver of climate events. During the session, the EU has actively promoted its key climate challenges and co-sponsored a number of global initiatives (including the Global Methane Initiative, the EU-Catalyst, the Global Gateway, global infrastructure development). The European Commission has developed a number of proposals for EU legislation on reducing methane emissions in the energy sector; carbon removal, recycling and storage; renewable and low carbon gases; transition to a greener, smarter, and more resilient mobility; food safety in a crisis. Guide for a fair transition towards climate neutrality and the first estimates of quarterly EU greenhouse gas emissions have been published.
