European integration of Ukraine: public opinion

The nationwide public opinion survey was conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation and Kyiv International Institute of Sociology on November 4-19, 2019 in all regions of Ukraine (110 locations), excluding the Russian occupied Ukrainian territory of Crimea and occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. 2,041 respondents, aged 18 years and older, were polled. The sample error doesn’t exceed 2.3%.

The survey was funded by the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

For comparative analysis, the results of the polls conducted in cooperation with the Razumkov Centre and the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology are presented.

The majority of citizens (53%) believe that Ukraine should join the European Union. 13% consider that Ukraine should join the Eurasian Economic Union with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, and 24% of respondents believe that Ukraine should not join either the European Union or the Eurasian Union.
