Readiness of Ukrainian citizens to participate in protests (March 2021)


The survey was conducted by the Razumkov Centre sociological service from 5 to 9 March 2021, via face-to-face interviews at the respondents’ place of residence. 2018 respondents aged over 18 y.o. were interviewed in all regions of Ukraine, except for Crimea and the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, based on a sample representative of the adult population. The theoretical sampling error (excluding the design-effect) does not exceed 2.3% with a probability of 0.95.

About 40% of Ukrainians are ready to take part in sanctioned rallies and demonstrations (14% are confident that they will participate, 26% are likely to participate). 48% of respondents are not inclined to take part in sanctioned rallies and demonstrations (35% are confident that they will not participate, 13% answered that most likely they will not). 20% of respondents are ready to take part in unsanctioned rallies and demonstrations, while 67% are not ready. 18% of respondents are ready to take part in strikes, while 70% are not ready. 18% are ready to support the boycott (refusal to implement the decisions of the administration, authorities), while 70% will not do so. 16% of respondents are ready to take part in blocking traffic on roads and railways, while 73% are not ready. 6% are ready to take part in street riots, while 84% are not ready.
