Regional policy development on the example of the Lviv region


For Ukraine, with its large and very diverse regions, the State policy of regional development should become one of the main policies of the state.

The European approach is based on the thesis that regional policy is primarily a development policy that prioritizes measures aimed not at the direct resolution of social, environmental or infrastructure problems, but on the disclosure of the economic potential of the territories, the increase in the productivity of their economy, the profitability of local business and the level of incomes of the population . And this, accordingly, creates conditions for the general increase of social standards and quality of life.

Despite the positive changes in the field of strategic planning and the fact that all regions of Ukraine today have their own development strategies, no significant progress has been made in achieving the goals of regional policy over the past 3 years.
