Ukrainian experts call the EU for granting visa-free regime for Ukraine

On July 3-6 Ukrainian experts – Iryna Sushko, Kateryna Kulchytska (Europe Without Barriers), Taras Doroniuk and Andriy Solodko (CEDOS), Olena Halushka (Reanimation Package of Reforms) and Sergiy Sydorenko (European Pravda) held a working visit to Brussels on advancing the EU-Ukraine dialogue on visa liberalisation.

The expert group met diplomats of the Permanent Representations of the EU member states, think tank experts, journalists and wide group of interested in the development of the EU-Ukraine relations.

Ukrainian experts and Ukrainian civil society, in general, share a unanimous position on providing visa-free regime to Ukraine without any delay. It is an important decision for Ukrainians, which, in fact, beyond allowing them to travel to the EU without visas. It is a symbol of recognition of Ukraine’s progress on the path of reforms, and a signal to Ukrainians to be equated in their right of free movement with the citizens of the EU.

The visit was organized by the Ukrainian Think Tanks Liaison Office in Brussels in cooperation with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, the Open Society European Policy Institute and the Media Couch with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation, SIDA and the Think Tank Fund.
