Press briefing: Visa Liberalization between Ukraine and the EU: Who is For and Who Is Against
On the 1st December in Brussels Ukrainian Think Tank Liaison Office in Brussels organized press briefing “Visa Liberalization between Ukraine and the EU: Who is For and Who Is Against”. During the press briefing the leading experts of civic initiative “Europe Without Barriers” (EWB) presented their recent research to the journalists.The key message of the EWB analysts was that Ukraine is a stable country which controls its migration flows. The experts emphasize that visa liberalisation will ensure stability and security of the country. It is of utmost importance to keep the pace of reforms launched within visa liberalisation process, noted the experts. EWB team also made a call upon the European Commission, Council of the European Union and European Parliament to positively assess the progress Ukraine has made in this area.
EWB delegation consisted of Iryna Sushko, Director and founder of the EWB, the analysts Maryana Kuzio and Kateryna Kulchytska, and Iryna Savchenko, project manager. Olga Kvashu, representative of the International Renaissance Foundation, who supported the study, also took part in the meetings.
The press briefing was attended by the journalists of UKRINFORM, Radio Svoboda, 112 Ukraine TV channel, Respect weekly (Czech Daily), China Youth Daily. The representatives of Open Dialog Foundation and Migration Policy Institute Europe were also present at the briefing. Press briefing took place in the framework of the visit of “Europe without Barriers” to Brussels, supported by the International Renaissance Foundation, and organized by the Ukrainian Think Tanks Liaison Office in Brussels and the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum.
